Beach Beacon Baptist Church currently meets in facilities that were meant to be temporary. These facilities have been such a blessing to the church as it has become established, and God has done an incredible work in the time that we have used them. But the reality is that the current layout and limitations of the facility, coupled with the age and condition of its trailers have created a crossroads for the church. After much discussion about relocation and selling the property it was determined that a partial sell of the property could give the church the help it needs while still allowing it to remain in the community that it has served for years. We are currently in the process of closing on the sale of 2.5 acres of our property on the corner of Newstead Drive and we will retain the other 2.5 acres. With the proceeds of that sale, coupled with giving from the church, Beach Beacon Baptist Church is preparing to build a modern facility that will serve the body for the present, while also leaving a legacy for future generations.

We are planning to build a standalone facility that will replace our current facilities, providing extra room that is currently needed, while also providing more seating, dedicated Youth and Children spaces, as well as a more secure facility that is not open to the elements. Our original facility that fronts Nimmo Parkway, will remain and be used exclusively as our Dining/Activity Hall for events. The trailers that currently house our Office and Classrooms will be demolished.
Our new facility will have a covered drop-off that will have enough clearance to accomodate emergency vehicles if needed. Inside the covered drop-off is our foyer area that leads into the gathering area above it. There will be plenty of gathering space for the body to fellowship before and after services and many of these spaces could be used for small fellowship meals and events that do not require a full tear down of our multi-purpose worship center.
To the left of our foyer will be our cafe area where our donut fellowship will be served. There will be seating there as well as other high top tables throughout the foyer and gathering area for people to eat and fellowship. Next to our cafe will be a dedicated Youth Room that we do not currently have. The Youth program is excited to be getting space that it can make its own.
On the right side of the foyer will be our Children's Church room which will provide a space for our children after the musical portion of our worship service. Around the corner toward the right side of the gathering area is our office space. We will have an administrative office right inside the main door, and our other offices will be accessed through this area as well.
We will finally have men's and women's restrooms with capacity for four in each restroom. Between the two restrooms will be our janitorial closet with a mop sink and plenty of room for supplies.
Just up from the bathrooms and behind double doors will be our children's wing which will house our nursery through toddler age children. This section will be secure and only parents with proper stickers for pickup will have access to this facility. This facility was designed to have line of site from one room to the next. The nursery will have a large window also offering line of sight while providing a quiet place for mothers and newborns. We will also have a screen in the nursery for nursing moms. Each of the main rooms in this area will have an exterior door with direct access to the playground area so that children and leaders do not have to march through the facility to go outside for recreation.
Our foyer leads directly into the Worship Center. Our new Worship Center will have a capacity of 300+ seats providing room for expansion while also eliminating the columns and cramped spacing that we experience in our current facility. The stage will be larger and our ceilings will be taller allowing for a more pleasant sound experience. Behind the stage will be our Green Room and IT/Tech Room that will support the stage Sound, Lighting and Presentation equipment.
The front of the building just behind the Worship Center will feature a storefront glass focal point that can be used to display our logo, a lighted cross or even a display that can change from season to season much like a storefront window in the city. This facility is visually going to be an incredible addition to the neighborhood that has grown up around us while providing the much needed permanent space the church has required for some time.
We are in the process of closing the land sale. After the sale of the land, the purchaser will begin building their portion and part of the sale agreement requires the placement of new utilities to the church property. When the sale closes, the final drawings on their end will be finalized and submitted for final permitting. Once their final drawings are set, then we wil be able to take our drawings and design to the city to start the permit process for this new facility. Continue to pray as we close out the sale of the property and pray as we beging the process of permitting for this new facility. Pray also that our current trailers will last long enough for us to contstruct this new facility and move in.
While we will have most of the funds we need for construction from the proceeds of the sale, we will not have all that we will need. We are trusting that the Lord will provide the rest of the funds through the generous giving of His people. Construction costs are soaring and interest rates are through the roof. We want to be good stewards of the finances that God has given us and avoid any debt on the new building.
